We have undertaken an extensive restoration of the Bernard Schwartz House.  Along with Bamco Architects the complete restoration of the house will be achieved.

 Restoration completed fall 2003 thru all 2004: 

  • New Roof

  • Completely rebuilt exterior chimney mass

  • Rebuilt brick planter

  • Replaced most of the perimeter bricks around concrete mat

  • Removed siding that had been added to house

  • Completely rebuilt utility room that had deteriorated badly

  • Rebuilt cantilevered balcony on second floor bedroom

  • Replaced damaged cypress on exterior

  • Replaced sliding glass doors with originally designed French doors

  • Removed added closet from master bedroom

  • Cleaned and waxed much of the interior tidewater red cypress

  • Removed carpeting from second floor and restored Beech floor

  • Reproduced some of the original furniture

 Phase 2

  • Reproduce all furniture designed for the house including a couch that was never built

  • Finish the cleaning and waxing of interior cypress

  • Replace plate glass with original French doors on main floor

  • Rebuild the privacy fence and seating in sunken garden

  • Began landscaping from original plans
